Making and keeping peace
How can we make peace and keep peace? Here are some suggestions:
Be the first to say sorry and make up when we fight. When we fight, we hurt each other with words and actions. When we are the first to apologize and make peace, we will feel better because we hurt less. At the same time, we make the other person feel better too.
Say a prayer for the adults if you see them arguing. Adults sometimes argue with one another and you may not be able to do anything to stop them. Saying a prayer and asking God to help is what you can do as a peacemaker.
Practice counting to ten when you want to scream or fight with you brother or sister. We do this so as to remind ourselves that when we scream or fight, our relationship with our brother or sister is broken. This is not what God want of us, so we try our best not to fight.
